This position is responsible for driving the site quality culture through the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the site Quality system.This is a Monday to Friday, full-time, fixed term position.   You must also have a strong focus on quality and safety and be able to work as part of an effective team.The key focus of this role is to lead the development and implementation of the food safety fundamentals of the site, including HACCP, customer requirements, and Quality Management systems.Reporting to the Quality Manager your duties will include but not limited to:Periodical review of laboratory performance against a defined set of measures. They shall be based on but not limited to, calibration and testing accuracy, result traceability, customer service, budget compliance and continuous improvement incorporating corrective and preventative action.Provide technical expertise in relation to results interpretation where required.Investigate and assist with determining root cause of quality failures and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.Ensure training of Laboratory staff in appropriate methods and procedures.Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.Undertake such surveys and projects deemed necessary to maintain recognised quality standards.Evaluation and inspection of plant and equipment on request and provision of professional advice.Provide an auditing function for the Quality Systems for the Laboratory.Walk-a-bout Safety and Housekeeping Audits.Maintenance of Laboratory Quality System.Ensure effective use of staff to complete daily/ monthly work schedules.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor in Food Processing or Degree or Associate Diploma in Science or Food Science or other relevant discipline is desirable.Minimum 4 years’ experience in the Food Industry / Dairy Operation.Experience in Quality Management Systems and Good Laboratory Practices.Strong technical skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve.Results orientation.By joining Longwarry, you will have access to industry leading training and career progression opportunities. About the Role
