We’re excited to be expanding our team and are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Night Shift Maintenance Fitter to support our operations during the hours of 10pm–6am. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world leader in the dairy industry and play a key role in maintaining and improving our production capability at our Dandenong South site.About the Role:This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment across all production lines and plant-wide assets. The role performs preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnoses faults, and implements actions to minimise downtime.  Responsibilities include: Carrying out scheduled inspections, servicing, and planned maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures.Respond promptly to unplanned equipment failures, diagnosing issues and restoring operations quickly.Identify and resolve mechanical faults through systematic troubleshooting, repairing or replacing components, and fabricating parts where required.Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including TPM and reliability‑focused programs, by identifying improvement opportunities and supporting actions that enhance equipment performance and reduce recurring failures.Work closely with production operators and other team members to address maintenance needs, share technical knowledge, and support effective problem‑solving across the site.Accurately document all maintenance work, update SAP/system records, and maintain detailed equipment history to enable reliable reporting, traceability, and effective shift handovers.Support efficient spare parts management by ensuring accurate usage recording, identifying replenishment needs, and helping maintain adequate inventory to prevent delays in repairs.Install, set up, and commission new equipment and machinery, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and verifying performance and safety prior to handover.About You:Trade Qualified (Electrical &/or Mechanical) with hands-on experience within FMCG operationsExperience with SAP PMExperience in Food or Dairy Manufacturing highly regardedAbility to identify mechanical and electrical issues and work to proactively resolve themDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively with multi-disciplinary departmentsSound verbal and written communication skillsProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to multitask and prioritiseBenefits Include:Competitive salary and bonus opportunitiesAccess to the 'Milk Bar' providing exclusive discounts and benefits for Lactalis employeesAccess to our Employee Assistance ProgramFree milk and dairy productsOurs is a STORY of a family business created by the Besnier Family in 1933 and is today the worlds’ No. 1 dairy company.   • Trade Qualified (Electrical &/or Mechanical) with hands-on experience within FMCG operations

  • Experience in Food or Dairy Manufacturing highly regarded

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with multi-disciplinary departments
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
