Maintenance Fitter – Rowville

Job Summary:As a maintenance fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical upkeep of our production lines. Your role will involve conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and performing corrective actions to minimise downtime and support continuous production.Note that this position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.Key Responsibilities:Preventative Maintenance: Performing scheduled inspections, servicing, and planned maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely. Breakdown Response: Responding quickly to equipment failures and operational issues to minimize production interruptions and downtime. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, replacing components, and fabricating parts as needed. Quality & Safety: Adhering to stringent food safety, hygiene, and health and safety policies and procedures to ensure product quality and a safe work environment. Continuous Improvement: Participating in continuous improvement programs and Total Performance Management (TPM) initiatives to enhance overall equipment performance. Collaboration: Working closely with production operators and other team members to address mechanical maintenance needs, share knowledge, and problem-solve. Record Keeping: Accurately recording all maintenance activities and update system to maintain equipment history and facilitate reporting including shift handovers.  Spare Parts Management: Managing spare parts inventory to ensure timely availability for repairs and maintenance. Equipment Installation: Installing new equipment and machinery, including setting up and fine-tuning components according to technical specifications.
