About our role:It supports and advances Lactalis Australia’s IT infrastructure and systems by leading a team of System Administrators. It ensures that IT infrastructure services and systems remain resilient, supportable, cost-effective, and relevant, while consistently delivering the functionality expected by users.Responsibilities include:Team Leadership & Staff DevelopmentLeads and supports the ICT Infrastructure team by managing workloads, mentoring staff, and encouraging professional growth. Conducts regular check-ins and performance reviews to ensure strong team performance and future readiness.Infrastructure ManagementEnsures the smooth operation of both on-premises and cloud systems, including servers, networks, storage, backups, and data centres. Oversees upgrades, maintenance, and system lifecycle to reduce downtime and boost efficiency.Project DeliveryTakes part in infrastructure projects from planning to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and business goals. Works closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with organisational needs.Security & ComplianceImplements and maintains security measures to meet internal policies and industry standards. Identifies and addresses potential security risks in the infrastructure.Incident & Problem ManagementActs as the escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring quick resolution and thorough root cause analysis. Leads reviews after major incidents to drive improvements.Monitoring & ReportingMonitors system performance and availability, using reports to support planning and decision-making. Keeps ICT leadership informed about system health, risks, and upcoming initiatives.Budget, Vendor & Asset ManagementManages vendor relationships, contracts, and service levels. Maintains accurate records of infrastructure assets and looks for ways to reduce costs. Contributes to budgeting and long-term planning.Strategy & InnovationProvides input into ICT strategy by identifying trends and recommending new technologies that enhance performance, efficiency, or scalability.About you:The Team Leader – Infrastructure and Systems role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking. Candidates must have a:Strong foundation in IT infrastructure, with 5–7 years of experience in systems administration, ideally supported by a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Equivalent industry experience is also acceptable.Technically, the role demands proficiency in managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, particularly Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, and Red Hat Linux. Familiarity with Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, and identity management is essential. The candidate should also be experienced in Microsoft Azure, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and have a solid grasp of infrastructure automation tools like Morpheus.Security and networking are key areas, requiring knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, SIEM tools, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST. Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), backup and disaster recovery (Veeam, Azure Site Recovery), and monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Splunk) are also critical.Beyond technical skills, the role calls for strong leadership capabilities, including team development, project delivery, vendor management, and strategic input.
