About this Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Maintenance Team team at our South Brisbane Factory.

Your duties will include:

  • Manage electrical engineering projects and ensure project is adequately planned by developing technical specifications, job instructions / procedures, material and services requirements, labour and skill requirements, tools and equipment requirements, industrial notifications, environmental clearances, permits and safety management plans
  • Work on Continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide information for Maintenance Manager reporting

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Desirable), Associate Degree (minimum) in Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering (or similar).
  • Trade certified electrician (Desirable).
  • RPEQ or chartered engineer (Desirable, but not essential).
  • Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
  • Experience with project management
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge
  • High level PLC & SCADA skills 
  • High competency with Rockwell Allen Bradley suite of PLC’s, HMI’s etc
  • Knowledge of Ci-code (Citect) and SQL
  • Experience in the use of SAP.
