Pillar brands such as Paul’s, OAK, Ice Break, Tamar Valley Dairy, Vaalia, President and Galbani provide Lactalis Australia with a deep national footprint for growth and prosperity.About the OpportunityWe are seeking a team-oriented individual, to take up the full time Permanent position of Laboratory Technician in our Longwarry Food Plant team.  You must be self-motivated, have a strong focus on quality and safety, be able to work permanent Wednesday to Sunday and be part of an effective team.Your duties will include chemical and bacteriological analyses of in-line and finished product and raw materials. You will ensure prompt and accurate test results are communicated to internal and external customers, both written and oral. You will maintain equipment calibration schedules and ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times. You will also receive, check and store all consumables for the laboratory and undertake other duties as required. The position will be responsible for conducting tests in accordance with all our company and government requirements.The ideal candidate will possess the following:Degree or diploma in Science, Biochemistry, Food technology or Microbiology.Previous experience working in a laboratory, preferably in a food/dairy manufacturing environment.Practical experience in a laboratory serving external or internal customers.Experience in process root cause investigation and analysis.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work autonomously and make confident decisions.Ability to communicate with stakeholders on Technical and Quality related matters.Excellent computer literacy.Tertiary qualification in a food related discipline is preferred.A working knowledge of HACCP and OH&S is desirable but not essential.If you have the enthusiasm to succeed and are seeking a position with excellent long term potential for career progression then APPLY NOW.You will have strong communication skills and a dedication to get it right the first time.About the BenefitsLactalis encourages and supports a safe learning environment to give you the opportunity of a successful and rewarding career with us. If you have the ambition, drive and competency to succeed in this role please submit your application, including current resume by selecting 'Apply' and following the prompts.
