With knowledge and experience we encourage you to make a difference!About the RoleThe central lab team is seeking an experienced, energetic and pro-active Laboratory Analyst who is ready to join the team.Reporting to the Central Laboratory Manager, you will be accountable for performing timely and accurate preparation and testing of samples and to report and communicate results, to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory and an outstanding level of internal and external customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:To provide accurate, precise and timely communication of results of all testing and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.To assist in the provision of an efficient and reliable testing service in accordance with approved methods.Pro-actively seek continuous improvement opportunities within the business.Responsible for assuring quality of batch preparation and quality control activities by conducting product testing for chemical analysis to meet specification and quality standards.Responsible for the daily testing of chemical samples for the Central Laboratory, including project work and validation of new chemistry methods for sites, assisting National Laboratory Manager as required.Carry out day-to-day lab testing work including sample preparation, chemical, allergen & micro preparation, machine calibration and minor maintenance.Record, review and archive data to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate for compliance with regulatory agencies.Work independently or within a team to complete all required testing and tasks.Inform the Lab Manager of hazards, incidents and near misses, to ensure preventative or corrective action can be taken.To comply with the implementation of new laboratory policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and company policy.Support and assist continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and cross-functionally to improve food safety and quality, improve productivity and reduce waste.The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field (Food Science, Microbiology or Biochemistry).
