About this OpportunityParmalat has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join their South Brisbane factory team. This role is for a fixed term period of approximately 24 months. Reporting and providing support to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in the timely delivery of products to schedule and specification through ensuring processing, packaging and blow moulding activities run smoothly. This will involve conducting preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, project work and installations in a professional manner, thus adding value in a multi-skilled production environment.Please note this role may require shift work plus some overtime, including day and afternoon shifts, and weekends.More specifically, your duties will include (but not limited to): Implementing the Preventative/Routine Maintenance programs to achieve machine and line efficiency;Conducting welding tasks using GTAW and MMA welding processesEquipment monitoringSupervision of external contractorsPerforming scheduled safety checks as per instructions;Ensuring all tasks are performed safely, including completion of Relevant permits.Investigating failures and making recommendations to reduce risk and improve systems / processes; andLogging all work in the maintenance system and ensuring relevant documentation is complete and accurate.To be considered for this position, you will require a relevant trade qualification as well as previous experience in the food, dairy, packaging or process-related industries. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must also have knowledge and skills in: Pneumatics, hydraulics & schematics;Welding processes;Fitting & turning experience;High speed packaging lines and associated equipment including valves, Ink jet coders, pumps etc.; andKnowledge of GMP within the food industry will be an advantage.The successful candidate will have an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving as well as excellent communication skills across all operational levels. You'll consider yourself self-motivated, and be able to work efficiently without direct supervision to complete your duties.
