We are looking for an energetic and proactive Category Manager who will report to the Head of Customer Marketing. The Category Manager will be responsible for translating insights and facts into effective and actionable shopper focussed category plans to ensure the long term vitality the newest category to our business. Since Lactalis acquired Parmalat in 2011 we are accelerating growth in the cheese category as we advance into the future. We are seeking a person with the ability to shape strategic ideas and implement activities to align our business whilst meeting the demands of the customer.You will be the Cheese Category expert to the customer, taking responsibility for developing and implementing clear channel strategies. Working closely with Marketing to develop category strategies taking into account channel and customer-specific shopper insights and development opportunities. Strong contribution to ranging, pricing, promotion and shelf strategy based on shopper insights, working collaboratively with shopper marketing, sales and marketing teams.Skills & requirementsDegree qualified, with strong financial and commercial acumenCategory product knowledge and a minimum of 5+ year’s commercial experience in a customer facing Category, Senior Account or Shopper Insights management role within the FMCG sectorStrong category leadership in the development of Point of Purchase Strategies and a clear ability to win customer commitment through robust planning within cross-functional businessesExceptional leadership to inspire a culture of action that drives insights into having a competitive advantageTo ensure your success in this role you will have solid category experience demonstrating strong leadership, conflict resolution, and influential presentation and negotiation skills. You will also be financially competent, with a sharp understanding of our competitive environment and our unique market challenges. Your ability to build relationships and rapport with internal and external customers is paramount.
